MacArthur Fellow and architectural artist, James Carpenter, created Reflection Passage to provide visitors with a thoughtful and inspiring experience as they move through the Museum.

Reflection Passage relies upon changes in the natural world to complete the artistic process.  Its glass surface captures New York Harbor's ephemeral qualities of light and water and re-presents them inside a main passageway of the Museum, creating an ever-changing reflection in real time.

Gift of the EGL Charitable Foundation.
